Privacy Policy

iKippa for iPhone · Effective 9 September 2026 · Version 2.0

iKippa is built to know nothing about you. No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and no servers of our own. We do not collect your personal data, and we could not identify you if we wanted to.

This page explains that in detail, because "we collect nothing" deserves to be checkable rather than just asserted.

Who is responsible

The data controller for anything described here is:

8200 RAN INTELLIGENCE S.R.L.
Calea Dorobanților 7, Ap. 15
Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Sole registration code (CUI): 44564621
office@ranintelligence.com

We are established in Romania, so this policy is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Romanian data protection law. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, and we have not appointed one; write to the address above and you will reach the people who made the app.

What the app collects: nothing

iKippa has no user accounts, no login, no registration and no profile. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no attribution or measurement tools, no social media SDKs and no third-party trackers of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and never presents an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it has nothing to track you with. It has no back end: there is no iKippa server anywhere for your data to be sent to.

In App Store terms, our privacy label is Data Not Collected.

What stays on your iPhone

The app stores a small amount of information in its own private storage on your device:

None of this is sent to us. It is deleted when you delete the app, and it is included in your normal encrypted device backup if you have backups turned on.

One honest note: rim text is whatever you type. If you write "ADAM · BAR MITZVAH · 14.03.2027", that is a name and a date — personal data, by any sensible definition. It stays on your device, and in your own device backup if you use one; we never see it, and it travels only if you deliberately share that design as a file. Bear it in mind when you choose what to write, and who to send it to.

iCloud

Version 1.0 of iKippa does not sync your designs between devices. They are stored on the iPhone you made them on. If you have iPhone backups turned on, they are included in your own encrypted iCloud device backup, which lives in your iCloud account under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to that backup, no key for it and no way to read it. If a future version adds cross-device syncing, this page will say so before it ships.

Purchases

iKippa Plus and single-kippa purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple is the seller and the payment processor. We never see your name, address, card details or Apple Account. The app asks Apple only whether a purchase is active and receives yes or no.

Apple later gives us sales and financial reports. These are aggregated and anonymised — units sold, countries, totals — and never identify individual customers. If you request a refund, that is between you and Apple; see the Terms.

If you email us

The "Contact us / Report a bug" option in Settings opens an email addressed to us. If you send it, we receive what everyone receives in an email: your email address, your name if your mail app includes it, and whatever you write.

The app adds a short technical footer to help us diagnose problems. It contains exactly this and nothing more: the app version and build number, and the name and version of your operating system (for example "iKippa 1.0 (1) · iOS 18.6"). It contains no device identifier, no serial number, no advertising ID, no location and nothing that identifies you or your phone.

We use that correspondence only to answer you and to fix the problem. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in supporting our own product and, where your message is about a purchase, performance of our agreement with you. We keep support emails for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to have a record of it, normally no more than two years, and we do not use your address for marketing or add you to any list.

Sharing a design

Plus members can send a design to another member as a file. That file goes directly from you to them, by whatever means you choose — AirDrop, Messages, email. It does not pass through any system of ours, and we never receive a copy. What is in it, and who you send it to, is entirely up to you.

Permissions the app does not ask for

iKippa requests no system permissions at all. It does not use the camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts, calendar, health data, motion data, Bluetooth, or your local network. In wear mode it keeps the screen awake and may raise brightness, and it restores both when you leave; those are device settings, not data about you.

Children

iKippa is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed for them. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either. Purchases should be made only by the Apple Account holder or with their permission — Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time settings are the place to control that.

International transfers

We do not transfer your personal data anywhere, because we do not hold any, other than support emails you choose to send us, which are stored with our email provider. Apple's own handling of purchase and iCloud data is described in Apple's privacy policy and is a matter between you and Apple.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise any of these by writing to office@ranintelligence.com, and we will reply within one month.

In practice there is usually nothing for us to give you or delete, because we hold nothing about you — the only exception is an email you have sent us, which we will delete on request. Data held on your own device is yours already: you can see it in the app and delete all of it by deleting the app.

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Romania that is the Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), and elsewhere in the EU the authority where you live, work, or where the issue arose.

Security

The strongest privacy measure in iKippa is architectural: there is no server, no account and no collection, so there is no store of user data to breach. What lives on your iPhone is protected by iOS app sandboxing and by your device encryption and passcode. Keeping your device updated and locked is the most useful thing you can do.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of iKippa ever changes what it does with data, we will update this page before that version ships, and the version and effective date at the top will change. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app.
